  • International archivists community condemns russian aggression and supports Ukrainian colleagues

    Since the beginning of the unprecedented aggression of russian federation against independent Ukraine, the international archivists community expresses its concerns and words of support for Ukrainian archivists, emphasizing in its appeals the importance of protecting the archives of Ukraine. They stressed that while documents originals are safe — history can not be erased. In addition, they offered their assistance, in particular, in digitalization of the National Archival Fond’s documents and preservation of already created electronic resources. 

    The President of the International Council on Archives David Fricker, in response to the appeal of the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine Anatolii Khromov to the General Secretariat of the organization to deprive the Federal Archival Agency of the russian federation of membership, in the coming days will convene an urgent meeting of the ICA Executive Board to make the appropriate a decision. 

    All foreign colleagues point out the courage and bravery of Ukrainians in general and archivists of Ukraine as well, who faithfully defend the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the National Archival Fond of Ukraine.
