    Voices from Ukraine: Ukrainian libraries and archives fighting against Russian invasion

    On April 6, 2022, the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine Anatolii Khromov took part in an online-event, organized with the help of American colleagues from University of California, Berkeley. During the event 11 representatives of Ukrainian libraries and archives discussed the current state of affairs in libraries, archives and information infrastructure of Ukraine at the time of russian aggression in Ukraine.   

    Anatolii Khromov talking about the State Archival Service of Ukraine, as a government authority that implements state policy in the archival field, highlighted in his speech that: “Ukraine is one of the European countries and the matter of saving archives is crucial, because they store 86 millions of files with documents dated from XII century and till the present time. And it is not only the history of Ukraine, but also of other European nations, the world’s history”.
