    Рosted 12 April 2022 17:03

On April 11, 2022, Anatolii Khromov  the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine took part in the program of Ukrainian radio “Today. Daytime”. During the program he answered the questions of the host Lidia Stanytska about saving the archives and creation of archival fonds, which depict russian aggression on the territory of Ukraine.

Anatolii Khromov spoke about the damaged from the shelling buildings of regional archives in Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, archival department in Lysychansk, Luhansk region.

Answering the question regarding the safety of digital copies of archival documents, the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine mentioned that they are not damaged, because they are stored not in a single place. He stressed that since the start of his team, the scale of work on digitization of archival documents significantly increased.

To save archives, some collections of several regions are currently being replaced, although, unfortunately, it is not always possible to do.

Not only the archives must be saved, but also the evidence of russian aggression crimes must be documented. In the relatively safe regions, without active hostages, archives had an order from the State Archival Service of Ukraine to initiate creations of fonds, related to the fight of Ukrainian nation against brutal russian invasion. Anatolii Khromov highlighted that we have to provide an access for our descendants to all the sides of life.
