    New digitization project with Czech partners is now on

    On June 15, 2022, an agreement of cooperation between the Central State Archives of Public Organizations of Ukraine and the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes (Czech Republic) was signed. This agreement is part of an important joint project with Czech partners to study the consequences of totalitarianism in the 20th century and digitization of the documents, which contain the information about repressed individuals, including Czechoslovak citizens, which began in February 2020. 

    The agreement envisages the digitization of archival criminal files of the fond No. 263 “Collection of extrajudicial cases of rehabilitated persons” regarding citizens of Czech and Slovak nationalities who lived on the territory of Ukraine and suffered repression. 

    Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Ukraine Radek Matula was present at the event, together with the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine Anatolii Khromov.  

    Mr. Ambassador and Czech colleagues expressed the words of support to Ukrainian archives, which even in conditions of russia’s war against Ukraine are continuing to fulfil its mission.  

    Reminder. On February 4, 2020 in Prague, an agreement of cooperation between the State Archival Service of Ukraine, Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes and Security Services Archive of Czech Republic was signed. From the Ukrainian side the agreement was signed by the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine Anatolii Khromov.
