    Anatolii Khromov visited the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Lviv

    On June 25, 2022, the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine Anatolii Khromov made a working visit to the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Lviv. During his meeting with the director of archive — Olesya Stefanyk and archive employees, the new challenges connected with russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine were discussed. 

    The Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Lviv from the first days of russia’s war against Ukraine, implemented measures to ensure the preservation of the documents from the National Archival Fond, including 323 unique samples of Ukrainian history and culture. This is the largest archival collection of unique documents among other state archives of Ukraine.

    One of these measures was the intensification of cooperation with international organizations of Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, Norway, France, the USA and other countries to ensure the needs of fire safety of the archive, information security of digitized documents, internal relocation, movement of unique documents in archival repositories. Thanks to the help of international funds and organizations (ALIFH, Piql, SEJFNET), the archive is equipped with special fire evacuation bags and boxes for moving and storing archive files, fire extinguishing equipment. 

    The archive is an active participant in local volunteer initiatives of Lviv and the Lviv region, the archive employees are actively engaged in volunteer and charity activities.
