    Anatolii Khromov visited Transcarpathia: visit outcomes

    On September 6, 2022 the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine had a working meeting with the Head of the Transcarpathian Regional Military Administration Viktor Mykyta.

    Within the framework of the meeting, the prospects for the development of the archival affairs of the region were discussed, in spite of russia’s large-scale aggression against Ukraine, and the issue of support for the activities of the State Archives of Transcarpathian Region by the regional administration was considered. During the meeting, Anatolii Khromov informed that he had checked the condition of the storage rooms, reading rooms and the presence of shelters in the premises of the archive in the cities of Uzhgorod and Berehovo.

    In addition, during Anatolii Khromov’s meeting with the team, the inclusion of the archive in cooperation with the FamilySearch International (USA) corporation was discussed, and the decision to open reading rooms for users in the State Archives of the Transcarpathian Region from September 7, 2022 was announced. Starting tomorrow, researchers will be able to use archival information not only online, but also directly order archival files by visiting the archive.

    Also, the State Archives of the Transcarpathian Region is actively replenishing the database “Ukrainian martyrology of the XXth century” and cooperates with foreign partners to resolve archival crisis situations and prevent the destruction of documents.
