  • The online exhibition: “The NKVD files against refugees 1939-1941” was presented

    On November 21, 2022, the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes in cooperation with the State Archival Service of Ukraine and the State Archives of Transcarpathian Region presented a thousand archival and investigative files of the NKVD.

    The project was prepared and released to the public for the 80th anniversary of the USSR’s declaration of amnesty for the citizens of Czechoslovakia, in particular the residents of Carpathian Ruthenia who fled from Nazism to the Soviet Union at the beginning of the war.

    Reference: On February 4, 2020, the Cooperation Agreement was signed between the State Archival Service of Ukraine, the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes and the Security Services Archive of the Czech Republic.

    The Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes is a state organization in the Czech Republic engaged in the scientific study of the era of totalitarian regimes in Czechoslovakia: the era of communism and Nazism.
