    On December 4, 2022, the Sunday newspaper The Observer of the famous British newspaper The Guardian published an article with the comments of the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine, Anatolii Khromov, which he gave to the journalist Stephen Marche regarding the struggle of archivists and librarians on the cultural front, during the full-scale war of russia against Ukraine.

    The Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine highlighted that on February 24, archivists began their struggle for Ukrainian national memory. This struggle took two forms – the preservation of material artifacts and the rapid digitization of existing archives.

    “Our mission is crucial because the destruction of archives can be seen as part of cultural genocide” – Anatolii Khromov.
