    Рosted 20 January 2023 12:58

The State Archival Service of Ukraine continues systematic cooperation with foreign partners, aimed at supporting the archives of Ukraine and providing assistance in preserving the national documentary heritage, which was under threat of destruction as a result of full-scale russian aggression.

Today, large-scale aid from Germany for Ukrainian archives arrived in Kyiv. It is 20 special certified fire-resistant storage cabinets with many hours of fire protection. This is the result of the cooperation of the State Archival Service of Ukraine with the Federal Administration of Culture and Media (Bundesregierung für Kunst und Medien), Ukraine Art Aid Center, the Federal Archives of Germany, the State Archives of Bavaria, the Federal Institute for the History and Culture of Germans in Eastern Europe (Bundesinstitut für Kultur und Geschichte im östlichen Europa) and the German-Ukrainian Society.

We express our sincere gratitude to the German partners and everyone who participated in ensuring the transportation of such equipment, which is extremely necessary for Ukrainian archives today. Fireproof storage cabinets are resistant to high temperatures and in extreme conditions will protect documents for more than two hours from possible loss.

Fire-resistant cabinets will be distributed by 3 cabinets for Central State Archives of Supreme Bodies of Power and Government of Ukraine, Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Kyiv, Central State Archives Museum of Literature and Art of Ukraine, Central State Archives of Public Organizations and Ukrainica, by 2 cabinets for Central State Audiovisual and Electronic Archives, Central State Scientific and Technical Archives of Ukraine, Branch State Archives of the Security Service of Ukraine and by 1 cabinet for state archives of Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.
