On March 1, 2023, one of the most important world conferences in the field of genealogy and archives, RootsTech, started in Salt Lake City (USA). The conference is organized by the FamilySearch International corporation, which actively and successfully cooperates with the State Archival Service of Ukraine and Ukrainian archives.
Anatolii Khromov, the Head of State Archival Service of Ukraine, represents Ukrainian archives at this conference. It provides an opportunity to further promote the interests of the archival field of Ukraine in a specialized environment and will ensure the support of Ukrainian archives by foreign partners, as well as contribute to the expansion of joint projects on the digitization of documents of the National Archival Fond of Ukraine.
Anatolii Khromov informs the participants of the international event about the work of archives in the conditions of russia’s war against Ukraine and will hold consultations on issues of their further support and necessary assistance, primarily to archives territorially located on the frontline and de-occupied territories.
Among the participants of this year’s conference are the President of the International Council on Archives Josée Kirps, heads and responsible representatives of archival services and archives of Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy and France.
During the sectional meetings of the annual RootsTech Connect conference, meetings and bilateral consultations of the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine with the leadership of the ICA and representatives of the EU archives on establishing/activating bilateral cooperation will take place.
