During his business trip to Salt Lake City (USA), Anatolii Khromov, the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine, held consultations with the employees of the FamilySearch International corporation, responsible for the implementation of international projects, during which he negotiated their further involvement in projects on the digitization of genealogical documents of the state archives of Ukraine. It will contribute to speeding up the pace of digitization of documents of the National Archival Fond of Ukraine and ensure their reliable storage, as well as access to them online. The consultations also discussed the possibility of attracting international humanitarian aid and financial resources of the donor community to support the stable work of Ukrainian state archives, including those in de-occupied territories.
Consultations were held in accordance with the Memorandum of Cooperation between the State Archival Service of Ukraine and the FamilySearch International Corporation (USA) concluded on June 2, 2020, signed by Anatolii Khromov on the Ukrainian side.
Since the signing of the Memorandum, agreements on cooperation with the corporation have been concluded by four central state archives and 12 regional state archives.
