This year, Stockholm hosted the 45th meeting of the European Board of National Archivists EBNA, the 32nd meeting of the European Archives Group EAG, and another meeting of members of the Archives Portal Europe Foundation (APEF) from May 24 to 26, 2023.
At this year’s EBNA meeting, dedicated to the democracy and accessibility of EU archives, Anatolii Khromov delivered a report on the archives of Ukraine today, focusing on the preservation of archival documents and ensuring the sustainable operation of archives in the conditions of russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine, which became possible with the support of international partners and the dedicated work of Ukrainian archivists.
The EAG meeting discussed, among other things, the support and benefits for archives of the digital infrastructure initiative that will bring together cultural heritage institutions and research organizations across the EU and is supported by the Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Development (RTD) through the Horizon Europe program Research and Innovation.
At the meeting of the members of the APEF group, it was agreed to provide assistance to Ukrainian specialists in the integration of online resources of the State Archival Service of Ukraine and archives of Ukraine to the Archives Portal of Europe.
