On September 12, 2023, an online meeting of the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine Anatoli Khromov with the leadership of the Culture Committee, Region Västra Götaland (Sweden) took place.

From the Swedish side, the Chair of the Culture Committee, Region Västra Götaland Alex Bergström, the Second Chair of the Culture Committee Carl Forsberg, and Regional Development Officer, Culture Affairs Karolina von Mentzer took part in the meeting.

From the State Archival Service of Ukraine, the First Deputy Head Tetiana Shevchenko, Head of the Communication Department Yuliya Prylepisheva and Head Specialist of the International Cooperation Department Iryna Zhaloba joined the meeting.

The meeting was dedicated to finding ways to help Ukrainian archives during the war.
Anatolii Khromov spoke about the system of the Ukrainian archival field, described aspects of the activity of Ukrainian archivists in present conditions, and identified urgent needs.
The Head informed Swedish colleagues about the charity account, which opened at the initiative of the State Archival Service of Ukraine to help Ukrainian archives during the war, and urged to spread information about it among interested colleagues.

During the meeting, the issue of internships for Ukrainian archivists at the cultural institutions of the Västra Götaland region, as well as possible assistance in preparing for the heating season and probable russian missile attacks on the energy system of Ukraine, was discussed.

Following, Alex Bergström and Carl Forsberg assured that they would consider all possible ways of assistance and expressed sincere support for Ukrainian society.
