    Copies of documents on Ukrainian themes were received in the framework of cooperation with the Turkish side

    The State Archival Service of Ukraine, with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Turkey, received digital copies of Ukrainian documents found and produced in accordance with the Protocol on Cooperation between the State Archival Service of Ukraine and the State Archive Directorate under the President of Turkey.

    The obtained copies of the documents cover the period of the history of Ukrainian-Turkish relations from the 15th century to the 1990s and count 6767 copies.

    Digital copies were sent to the Central State Electronic Archive of Ukraine for processing in order to organize access to them by posting on the official webportal of the State Archival Service of Ukraine and the website of the Central State Electronic Archives of Ukraine.

    The received documents are compiled in Turkish and other languages, the State Archival Service of Ukraine is taking measures to involve scientists who study the history of Ukraine in the Turkish archives to translate the titles of documents and study their content.

    For reference: Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine Anatolii Khromov and Director of the State Archive Directorate under the President of Turkey Ugur Unal signed a Protocol on Cooperation on February 3, 2020, which provides equal access rights to archival documents for Ukrainian and Turkish researchers; facilitate the replenishment of the national archives of the Contracting Parties on a mutually beneficial basis with copies of archival documents kept in the state archives of the other Party and of interest to researchers of the Contracting Parties; will exchange specialists for the purpose of conducting joint research and internships.
