On May 11, 2021, in the premises of the State Archival Service of Ukraine, with the participation of Anatolii Khromov, the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine and Larysa Levchenko, Deputy Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine, signed agreements on cooperation with FamilySearch International (USA) of the State Archives of Chernivtsi and Chernihiv regions, signed by the directors of these archives Mykola Rubanets and Raisa Vorobei. The corporation was represented by FamilySearch’s official representative in Ukraine, Oleksandr Sichkarenko.
As of today, participation in projects to digitize documents of the National Archive Fond of Ukraine containing information of a genealogical nature will be seven state regional archives, namely, the state archives of Kirovograd, Kyiv, Luhansk, Mykolayiv, Poltava, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv regions. This cooperation will result in equal access by all users to the information and resources of the state archives.
Organizational support of the signing is provided by the staff of the Communications Department of the State Archival Service of Ukraine.
For reference: On June 2, 2020 the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine Anatolii Khromov signed Memorandum of cooperation between State Archives Service of Ukraine and FamilySearch International (USA) the purpose of which is to digitize documents of the National Archive Fond of Ukraine of a genealogical nature and to create a fond for the use of such documents.
