A few days ago on «Ukrainian Radio. Odessa » Anatolii Khromov, the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine, spoke about the role and place of archives in the search works for the establishment of the site of mass graves of victims of the Great Terror 1937-1938 on the 6th km of the Ovidiopol road in Odessa.

«There is no clear place of burial in the personal cases of repressed persons. In my opinion, as a historian, it is a joint work of researches, historians and archivists »- noted the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine Anatolii Khromov during the broadcast.

Also, the official told about declassified and not up-to-date documents, and reminded all listeners about special information resource «Ukrainian Martyrologist of the twentieth century» which is aimed at collecting information about victims of political repression in a search database, it is located on the official web portal of the State Archive Service of Ukraine.

«According to the archival system, less than 0.5% of documents remain among the National Archive Fund of Ukraine with access restrictions. Ukraine is one of the most open countries in this question », – emphasized the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine Anatolii Khromov in the ether of Ukrainian Radio.Odesa ».
