        On May 27, 2021, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Albania organized and held an online meeting of the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine Anatolii Khromov with the Director General of the Central Archives of the Republic of Albania Ardit Bido.

        The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Albania Volodymyr Shkurov, addressed the participants of the online meeting which noted that future cooperation in the archival sphere between Ukraine and the Republic of Albania was promising and would be of mutual interest to both States, as their historical past and the path to independence were approaching , which unites the Ukrainian and Albanian peoples.

        Anatolii Khromov informed the participants that the intensification of international cooperation and the introduction of a new communication policy of the State Archival Service of Ukraine is one of the priority areas of activity. Reform of the archival business in Ukraine is impossible without studying the experience of foreign colleagues. Archivists of Ukraine are gradually integrated into the world, primarily European archival environment, which is facilitated by the openness of archives and the provision of equal access of users to archival information and electronic archival resources.

        The Director General of the Central Archives of the Republic of Albania Ardit Bido, assured the participants of the interest of the Albanian side to cooperate with Ukrainian counterparts, which will be facilitated by the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the State Archival Service of Ukraine and the Central Archive of the Republic of Albania. He noted the role of Odesa in the history of the Albanian people, as today there are still Albanians living in the region, and they have preserved their language and folk traditions.

        Finally, the participants thanked the Embassy for the opportunity to meet online, which was the first step in cooperation between the parties and agreed to take the necessary steps to prepare and sign the Cooperation Agreement.
