    The Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine took part in the opening of the museum exhibition: “Kyiv Remand Prison: Past and Present…”

       On May 24, 2021, the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine Anatolii Khromoh, took part in the opening of the museum exhibition «Kyiv Remand Prison: past and present …», which took place in the state institution «Kyiv Remand Prison» on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the Academician O.O. Bogomolets.

       The State Archival Service of Ukraine contributed to the discovery of information on the history of creation, development and functioning of the State institution «Kyiv Remand Prison», in particular, documents were provided by State archival institutions related to the design, construction and commissioning of the Lukyanovka prison, statistics on the number of prisoners, plans for prisons in the Kyiv governorate, correspondence on the adoption of measures to prevent an epidemic of cholera in prisons in Kyiv province and information related to the use of Lukyanovka prison in the post-war period 1945-1960 .

    In addition, documents were found on prominent Ukrainian personalities held at various times in Lukyanovka prison, such as Sofia Bogomolets, Volodymyr Vynnychenko, Simon Petliura, Maksym Rylsky, Olena Teliga, Serhiy Paradzhanov and others.

    Archival documents have become a substantial addition to the museum exhibition.
