The meeting initiated by the Embassy is important, noted Darhan Kaletayev, in order to further deepen bilateral cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere between Ukraine and the Republic of Kazakhstan, as archival institutions on both sides retain documents related to the historical past of the Ukrainian and Kazakh peoples, especially during the twentieth century, which requires research and joint activities.

Anatolii Khromov emphasized the need to update bilateral interdepartmental cooperation between the State Archival Services of Ukraine and the Republic of Kazakhstan, since the agreement on cooperation between the State Archival Committee of Ukraine and the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on May 21, 2010, today does not cover areas of cooperation that would be of interest to archivists of both States.

After exchanged proposals for bilateral interagency cooperation in the field of archives, the participants agreed on the advisability of organizing and holding a meeting between the heads of the State archival services of Ukraine and the Republic of Kazakhstan by videoconference.

On the Ukrainian side, the meeting was attended by the Head of the Communications Department of the State Archival Service of Ukraine Yuliya Prylepisheva, on the Kazakh side – Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ukraine, Kaisar Karbozin and the Second Secretary of the Embassy, Azamat Karzhaubayev.
