The State Archival Service of Ukraine under wartime conditions continues to carry out international activities with foreign partners, first of all from the countries – EU members
    Рosted 5 May 2022 13:10

On May, 5, 2022, during the online-meeting of the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine Anatolii Khromov with Miroslav Vanek, director of the Institute of Modern History Academy of Science of the Czech Republic, a Memorandum of cooperation was signed.

The State Archival Service of Ukraine already has similar agreements in the archival field with the archival department of the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic, Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes and The Security Services Archive of the Czech Republic, which confirms tight historical connections of both countries.

Miroslav Vanek stressed that the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic officially supported Ukraine, since the very beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by russia.     Cooperation within the frameworks of a signed Memorandum will help to save the documents of Ukrainian archives, as one of the main tasks is to digitize the documents.

The Czech side is ready to implement the document digitization project in the near future, starting from the documents of the State Archives of Transcarpathian Region, in particular the city Berehovo. The documents contain the information about Holocaust and repressions against individuals of Jewish nationality and Romani people.
